INTERIOR
The former apartment in the machinist's house in the old Altona waterworks was extensively renovated in 2019 - with the focus on getting the most out of a small space (42 m²). In order to allow a wide view of the Elbe, the floor-to-ceiling round window was retrofitted and the statics adapted accordingly. The two-seater Togo by Ligne Roset now stands here, from where you can enjoy a wonderful view of the greenery or watch ships on the Elbe.

The unagitated natural tones of the interior design create a feeling of space and order. Reduced design classics such as the Saarinen table by Knoll or Wishbone Chairs by Hans Wegner help to create a modern place of silence far away from the city.

As you enter the smartly designed loft, you hang your coat on the Hang it all coat rack by VITRA. Directly to the right is the Bathroom Kubus, an easily integrated solution for a bathroom with shower, equipped with black VOLA fittings. The light-colored wooden cladding of the cube also includes a built-in cabinet solution. With identical materials and drawers for additional storage space, the custom-made double bed blends easily into the room.

The Living Divani sofa is the perfect place to relax or watch a movie. Coffee table books on travel, design and fashion are just as much a part of the interior as a Sonos sound system.

From the open and fully equipped design kitchen of the interior studio Decorazioni, communication with up to 4 people at the round Saarinen table by Knoll is a pleasure and makes for an easy dinner setting.

EXTERIOR & OTHER
This extraordinary ensemble of buildings on the Falkensteiner Ufer was built in 1859 according to plans by Thomas Hawksley and William Lindley and served as a pumping station for the waterworks. A few years ago, it was extensively renovated - with a fine feel for the combination of existing substance and modern architectural language - and is now used privately. Various design lofts, studios, villas and an old pump room can be found there.

The Design Loft is located on the 1st floor of a building of former machinists' apartments with 6 residential units and has an associated parking space. There are also reserved parking spaces for guests in front of the building. There is additional storage space in the basement, as well as a washer-dryer.

The additional costs are all-in and include heating, water, electricity, internet, house cleaning and the parking space.

LOCATION
The design loft is located in Hamburg's Blankenese district directly on the Falkensteiner Ufer. The area is known for its great walks on the beach along the Elbe, the Roman Garden and an unbelievably great view - a feeling almost like being by the sea. In summer, Kajüte SB12, right on the banks of the Elbe, is the perfect place for a sundowner with your feet in the sand.

The Jungfernstieg is 40 minutes away by car. The Blankenese S-Bahn station, where you can also find all the shops, is 8 minutes away. The charming weekly market has been held in Bahnhofstrasse on Tuesdays, Fridays and Saturdays since 1929. The famous Treppenviertel is a 25-minute walk along the Elbe.
