Stunning late classicist palazzo with pool and roof terrace
INTERIOR
Dating back to the 1800s, Palazzo Bartomeu was established during the initial flourishing of Sóller due to orange cultivation. This picturesque village, with its stone houses and narrow streets, is nestled in the Serra de Tramuntana mountains, transitioning into its own harbor with a bay and sea.
The palazzo, with its traditional natural stone façade, faces the street and extends deeply into the property, featuring a patio with a long green marble swimming pool and an adjoining guest house. Stairs on both sides descend to the pool, allowing for a view of the water’s surface and the light’s reflections.
The layout is remarkable: 675 m² of constructed area and 130 m² of patio.
Main house
Ground floor: entrance hall, guest WC, kitchen, dining room
1st floor: 2 bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms, living room, office
2nd floor: 3 bedrooms with 3 bathrooms
3rd floor: living room, pantry kitchen, bedroom, bathroom

Ground floor: kitchen/dining/living area
1st floor: 1 bedroom with en-suite bathroom
The historical part of the building comes to life with a lavish three-story hall, featuring bridges connecting the two wings. Light pours through a pyramid-shaped skylight down to the ground floor, illuminating all levels. Upon entering, the luxurious design is evident with stucco capitals, ceiling cassettes, and relief-like balustrades. Rare marble steps with filigree stone carvings are included among the stone floors.
Restored old features coexist with modern design elements. The bathrooms and kitchen, characterized by smooth surfaces of smoked oak and plaster, exhibit functional austerity. A natural stone washbasin pays homage to Mallorcan craftsmanship, complemented by Vola brass fittings and oval mirrors framed in brass. The apartment embodies a blend of Majorcan style and Scandinavian aesthetics, with warm whites, sand, brass, oak, and metal tones highlighting the materials and design language.
The guest house follows a purist, almost Bauhaus style, with shapes, colors, and materials classically beautiful in their reduction. The symmetry and proportions in the windows are notable. Everything inside is white, as is the exterior, except for the roof, which features exposed wooden beams and clay tiles. The combination of taste, aesthetics, and luxury in a historic setting is exceptional, extending to the furniture (Poliform, Kettal, etc.).
EXTERIOR
Sóller is one of Mallorca's most sought-after residential areas, exuding charm and character. Strict building regulations have prevented urban sprawl, leading to the loving restoration of old buildings. This has created a paradise for hikers, cyclists, and water sports enthusiasts who also appreciate the Mallorcan dining and living culture.
The old palazzo appears inconspicuous from the outside but reveals overwhelming beauty upon entering, embodying a typical Mediterranean approach: modesty outside, pure luxury and formal aesthetics inside. Historical elements have been meticulously restored (quarry stone walls, cement tiles, stucco, windows, doors, etc.) and are complemented by modern features.
The architectural surroundings are impressively beautiful, with roofs, facades, and quarry stone walls providing a unique view and location.
