Stunning estate with sea view and full privacy in a nature reserve
INTERIOR
Even entering the building is a design delight: a tranquil forecourt is lined with slender cypresses, two small palm trees in massive stone pots and ivy on the quarry stone façade, which turns a beautiful red in autumn. This creates an authentic Mediterranean ambience right here. The stone portal with its round arch and massive, historic door, completes this feeling.
Then it continues into a two-storey hall, where an open staircase with delicate iron railings leads up to a gallery. This separates the public areas on the ground floor from the private rooms on the first floor.
On the ground floor, there is a separate kitchen, an open, very large dining/living area with an adjoining veranda running the entire length of the house. A further living area has an offset level, a seating area in front of an open fireplace and a panoramic window.
Two bungalow-like wings with separate access house one guest room with en suite bathroom and one office. The office could easily be converted back to either one or even two bedrooms with its each en suite bathroom. Making a potential total of 5 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms.
The room heights are pleasant thanks to the pitched roof, especially as the double-sided or multi-sided lighting through different window formats ensures brightness, varied lighting conditions and beautiful views; access to the roof terrace included. The traditional canopy bed does the rest to make you feel at home here.
The interplay of old and new, architecture and landscape, intimate outdoor spaces, terraces and open countryside is unique. The interior and furnishings are also extremely tasteful. Here, white ensures clarity and design cohesion.
EXTERIOR
A paradise on earth, that's how you could describe the Oasis del Dragón, without exaggerating. Situated on a hill in the north-east of Mallorca, protected by a mountain, you are located on stand-alone site without any direct neighbours and can enjoy a 270-degree panoramic view to the south, south-east and east as far as the sea.
The building ensemble and the covered parking spaces are accessed via a gated entrance and a tree-lined path. The ensemble was built in 2006 and was extensively renovated in 2016 and 2023 and technically brought up to date (heating system, electricity system, etc.).
The architecture was designed in line with Mallorcan-Mediterranean building traditions: Main house, two-storey with pale red clay tiles on a pent roof, quarry stone walls, 2 single-storey extensions with flat roofs, plus various smaller buildings as covered terraces, houses for garden tools or covered outdoor zones.
They are distributed rhythmically across the extensive grounds and are connected to each other by quarry stone walls of varying heights. The walls combine the parts into a whole, providing support and protection at the same time, in keeping with the tradition of the old courtyard complexes. They also create wind-protected terraces, shady courtyards and squares that encourage outdoor living.
The choice of materials is also in keeping with tradition: local quarry stone, plastered walls, natural wood as an exposed monopitch roof construction, vaulted ceilings partly made of textured concrete and shaped quarry stone, mullioned windows and glass doors also made of wood, natural stone floors or reed mats, to name just the essentials.
The seawater pool about 50 m away forms a separate ensemble where you can swim, splash, sunbathe and chill out undisturbed. The covered outdoor area is perfect for socializing and enjoying the fantastic scenery.
In the evening, spotlights on the walls, steps and plants create a world of their own. The play of light and shadow creates an ambience where you can hear, smell and feel the south.
A unique symbiosis of architecture, nature park and open landscape with a fantastic view of the sea has been achieved here.
LOCATION
The finca is located between Sant Llorenҫ and Artà. Artà is a small artists' town and is about 11 minutes away by car.
