INTERIOR
This Scandinavian-inspired apartment has a large living / dining / kitchen area (around 25 m²), plus three more rooms, a large south-west balcony, bathroom and spacious hallway.
The location on the 1st floor and the northeast-southwest orientation ensure a lot of light, air and sun. The balcony with its protruding slope intelligently takes up this orientation, orients itself to the course of the sun and at the same time protects against glances.
The smartly planned floor plan opens up two separate rooms via the hallway and the living / dining / kitchen area with an adjoining study.
The bathroom with shower and built-in cupboard for washing machine and dryer is centrally located in the apartment. A long skylight provides additional, natural lighting here.
During the most recent renovation, great value was placed on a contemporary and very tasteful design. A large opening between the hall and the living / dining / kitchen area creates a spacious overall impression.
The newly laid ash mosaic parquet in all rooms, based on the style of the 50s, also creates a spacious impression. All walls were smoothly plastered and colors and materials are skillfully coordinated. The brass fittings in the shower and wash basin from the Spanish design brand Iconico go perfectly with the large-format stone tiles in the bathroom. The sand tone on the walls also harmonizes perfectly with the warm beige tone of the mosaic parquet, the greige of the tiles and the golden yellow brass tone - pure harmony. It goes without saying that the kitchen fronts in the sand tone also fit perfectly.
The bedrooms vary in color between pale blue and dusky pink. Colors contemporary in their composition and combination to match the materials and surfaces. An extremely tasteful and homely unit to feel good in a pleasant ambience is offered here: Cultivated living down to the very last detail.
OTHER
The high-quality kitchen has design elements by Reginox and the Italian manufacturer Lavabo. The bathroom has faucets from Iconico and ceramics from Duravit. A large basement room (approx. 10 m²) offers additional storage space. The apartment has recently been completely renovated and the buyer can therefore enjoy first-time occupancy.
EXTERIOR
The quarter in Horn was planned and built in the 1950s. Classically functional multi-family houses as single houses were embedded in spacious green areas and give the characteristic image of urban planning at the time. With the low building height (3 storeys) and the generous distances, small, manageable residential buildings have been created.
The tall trees and the nearby horse racing track ensure lush greenery around the building and in the immediate vicinity. In the 1990s, the buildings were extensively renovated so that the technology and communal property are in good condition.
The conversion into condominiums has ensured that the residents are constantly taking care of the maintenance and care of the houses and apartments.
The architecture is typical of the time it was built. Lying cuboid with flat roof, perforated facade with windows of the same size lined up one above the other and a balcony that protrudes asymmetrically from the facade on one side. The balcony parapet, made of corrugated iron, a material typical of the time it was built, was laid out in a pale green shade. The closeness gives a lot of privacy. A handrail ensures restrained low proportions on all balconies.
The base and the lateral and upper building boundary lines were made of dark red clinker and make references to Hamburg's building tradition. The wall that shields the green area from the street area also has this exposed brickwork made of red clinker.
Inside you can also experience typical features of the architecture of the 50s. Wooden railings with turned bars, terrazzo steps, tiles, etc. The colors chosen here are beige-brown tones, which contrast with the white walls. Everything looks clean and well-kept, as do the gardens and parks.
The advantages of post-war urban planning with its manageability and spaciousness in the countryside can be experienced authentically here with the advantage of being in the immediate vicinity of the city center.
LOCATION
The Horn district was described as a “district in transition” in the NDR’s Hamburg Journal in January 2022. Among other things, the construction work on the U2 and U4, which began in February 2020, is contributing to this. The main train station will then be accessible in just 13 minutes via the Horner Geest underground station. In terms of transport, you are perfectly connected here, both by car (8 minutes to the center), train and bike (in around 15 minutes to the Alster), but also on foot.
At the Tante Emma café (only a 2-minute walk from the apartment), there is a delicious breakfast à la avocado bread with scrambled eggs or granola with fresh berries - oh yes, and the most delicious homemade cakes in the area.
If you need culture, you should go to Hamburg's smallest theater, the Theater das Zimmer. Various performances have been given on the cabaret on just 50 square meters for more than 8 years. Another cultural highlight is the Martinskirche. The neo-Gothic beauty is a listed building and to this day it still contains the original dark wood furnishings.
