INTERIOR
This well-preserved turn-of-the-century apartment, situated on the first floor of a charming 1899 building, was fully modernized in 2005. With high ceilings and large windows, the rooms are bathed in natural light. Two spacious south-east facing rooms open onto balconies that enjoy sunshine until mid-afternoon and offer views of Matternstrasse and Petersburger Platz.
A sunlit bathroom, tucked between these rooms, boasts a separate shower and bathtub, with white and gray tiles creating a serene atmosphere.
At the rear, a third room and the generous kitchen overlook the landscaped courtyard.
For added flexibility, the kitchen can be transformed into an additional bedroom or office, with minimal effort required to install an open kitchen in the living room.
Elegant oak parquet graces the main rooms, while the hallway, kitchen, and bathroom are tiled. The walls are smoothly plastered in a crisp white, and in 2024, all windows were replaced, ensuring a modern, refreshed feel throughout.
Gas central heating provides comfortable warmth and hot water throughout the apartment. Additionally, a cellar compartment is available for convenient extra storage.
EXTERIOR
The facade of this building displays a simple yet charming design characteristic of Berlin's early 20th-century architecture. The exterior is cream-colored, with vertically oriented, elongated windows that give the building a sense of height. The balconies are modest in size with frosted glass railings, and there is subtle decorative detailing around the windows and balconies, adding a touch of elegance. The red door at the entrance contrasts beautifully with the neutral facade, giving the building a welcoming and warm appearance, typical of the residential streets in the city.
The entrance offers a minimalist charm with mint green walls and a deep blue base. A deep red wooden door with glass panes adds light, while the beige tile floor features subtle dark blue accents, giving the space a clean and refined look.
The staircase features a beautiful wooden railing paired with mint-green walls, creating a fresh yet classic look. The large windows flood the space with natural light, highlighting the traditional charm of the building.
LOCATION
The area around Petersburger Platz is a charming residential neighborhood with great dining options. One highlight is Saporito, an authentic Italian restaurant known for its Neapolitan cuisine and a quirky detail - baby clothes strung across the restaurant. Another local gem is Kulinarium. Additionally, it's only a 10-minute walk to the vibrant Simon-Dach-Kiez, close enough to enjoy the lively atmosphere but far enough to offer a peaceful, more relaxed living environment.
The closest public transport is either the tram from Straßmannstr. or subway from Frankfurter Tor. The main station can be reach within approx. 20 minutes and BER airport in around 40 minutes.
