INTERIOR
This apartment is in the side wing of a large corner building that dates back to the Gründerzeit. 60 m², old building, 1st floor in the side wing plus orientation to the south-west towards the green inner courtyard are some key facts.
You enter the apartment via a beautiful, wide hallway, which leads to the living room, kitchen, bathroom and bedroom. A large storage room in the back of the apartment easily accommodates all the things you have: vacuum cleaner, ironing board, broom, shoes, boots, wardrobe, etc. This way, the apartment can always be tidy quickly.
Here, too, you get everything that is why apartments in old buildings are so popular: high, beautifully proportioned rooms, large lattice windows in all rooms, solid wood doors with paneled structure, original door frames, etc. Everything that was old was perfectly refurbished and stylistically supplemented with something new that fits the history of the apartment.
The highest quality natural oak floorboards were laid in all rooms. Skirting boards, 10 cm high based on Berlin tradition, processed, doors and window olives etc.
In this apartment, something very unique has emerged, as the latest trends in interior design have also been boldly implemented. The black kitchen unit in front of a turquoise tiled mirror by Golem deserves a special mention here. The whole thing immersed in a delicate shade of lilac. A skilful, idiosyncratic and modern color combination comes into play here.In the other rooms, tones such as a warm stone gray in the living room, a cozy dark gray in the bedroom and a dark shade of blue in the hallway meet large areas of white for windows, doors and baseboards. The bathroom is characterized by beige and white tones in contrast to the chrome fittings.
This resulted in an overall appearance that is mainly supported by colour. But the materials, whether old or new, are of high quality and fit together harmoniously. This exciting mix of colors and classic-traditional and daring-modern characterizes this apartment. Something for the courageous with a slight penchant for the unusual. Suitable for the trendy district of Neukölln. Hip, exciting, lively.
OTHER
The ceiling lights are LIRIO by Philips. The switch series is Berker R.3 in polar white. The floorboards are from Hinterseer. The ceramics in the bathroom are from Villeroy & Boch and the fittings from Grohe. The door handles are from Manufactum. The ceilings were extensively insulated and there also is a basement storage.
EXTERIOR
The impressive corner building dates from 1905 and is part of the old building stock in this quarter that has remained unchanged. The 5-storey building with a side wing includes a green inner courtyard. This Gründerzeit architecture has the typical elements.
Symmetrical facade with risalit-like building projections in front, balconies on both sides, closed balcony parapets with integrated holders for flower boxes, balconies set back in the facade, to name just a few. At the top, the building ends with an imposing gabled and mansard roof. Standing lattice windows are lined up above and next to each other. The piano nobile is given special emphasis by a double-divided arched window.
A beautifully designed entrance door leads into the interior of the building. The entrance area comes up with original tiles in blue-green and a contrasting stripe with relief-like structured tiles. From there you reach a very spacious staircase, wide and with richly decorated railings. The railing post and handrail are also really special.
Everything has been perfectly renovated so that this interior design shines again in its originally planned glory. The windows in the stairwell with their filigree glazing bars also provide brightness and harmoniously complete the overall aesthetics. Outstanding design, Gründerzeit architecture in its most beautiful form.
LOCATION
The corner building is located on Kienitzer Strasse and on Schillerpromenade/Herrfurthplatz, i.e. in the middle of the popular Schillerkiez. It is nestled between the busy Hermannstraße and the spacious Tempelhofer Feld. In recent years, the Kiez has developed into one of the most sought-after places in the city and regularly tops the list of Berlin's most sought-after districts. Why? There is the small Schiller market at the foot of the Genezareth Church, which exudes an almost village flair. More and more culinary highlights are settling here, such as Mama Kalo, Barra or Caligari. You get the tastiest espresso in Terz and you should definitely go to Neulich for a nightcap. If you ever want to get away, you can either take the subway from Leinestrasse (about 6 minutes' walk) or the S-Bahn from Hermannstrasse (12 minutes' walk). The BER can be reached in about 25 minutes and the main station in about 20 minutes.
