INTERIOR
This chic turn-of-the-century apartment is located on the 2nd floor of the garden house of a Wilhelminian style ensemble on Kastanienallee in Prenzlauer Berg, the trendy district par excellence. The building dates from 1900, i.e. historicism - Wilhelminian style at its best. It was completely renovated in 2008/09, with the district heating connection and energy efficiency class C being implemented. So you are absolutely on the safe side here in terms of energy technology.
In addition to outstanding technology, attention was also paid to well-thought-out floor plan design and great aesthetics. You enter the apartment via a short hallway and come across the first highlight, the floor-to-ceiling corner glass element, through which you can see the two-line, anthracite gray kitchen with dining area. Light can also flood the hallway. From here a section of land branches off and leads to the bedroom, the utility room and the large bathroom, with shower, bathtub and separate toilet.
The second branch leads into the large living room with an open fireplace and a spacious balcony facing southeast. The potential for changing the floor plan with the aim of a second bedroom is visible as an alternative floor plan.
In terms of design, the apartment lives from the color white, which covers the ceilings, walls, doors, windows, glass elements, etc. This is complemented by brown as an iridescent color in the glass mosaic tiles in the bathroom and as a lively color in the parquet floor made of beech wood, installed without thresholds in all rooms including the kitchen. This reduction to just a few colors and materials allows the rooms to grow together so homogeneously. This is matched by the skilful design selection from well-known manufacturers such as Duravit, Bosch and Bisazza.
Of course, the windows with the bars, some of which become glass walls, are also special. The open fireplace with corner glazing creates a pleasant atmosphere, both visually and visually. Aesthetics, peace and quiet in the garden house with a view of the treetops and the evening sun due to the orientation to the southwest also play a major role in feeling comfortable here - pure idyll, a retreat with a direct connection to the hustle and bustle on Kastanienallee.
EXTERIOR
The house Kastanienallee 75 perfectly represents the street that was laid out from 1826. Initially planned for early industrial craft businesses, residential buildings with the typical side wings or garden houses were built there from the middle of the 19th century.
The perforated façade with the high window formats, the balcony-bay window combinations and the stucco around the windows and as friezes are particularly effective here thanks to the dual color combination, eggshell color and nougat. Red sets accents in the ground floor area and at the edge of the roof. The garden house also features these colors and stucco around the windows. Modern balconies and the floor-to-ceiling, floor-to-ceiling, multi-part glass elements signal that today's architectural elements were also used here.
The staircase also thrives on the preservation of historical elements that have been lovingly restored. Stucco and red sisal runners demonstrate the desire to remain authentic. But here too, it is complemented by innovative contemporary architectural elements, such as the stair railing - old and new in harmonious harmony.
LOCATION
The world-famous Kastanienallee is also affectionately called “Casting Allee” because there are plenty of hip bars and cafés and you just have to “sit around” there to be discovered by talent scouts and model scouts. In other words, you are in a top location in Mitte/Prenzlauer Berg. In the immediate vicinity are, among other things, the Zionskirche, the Weinbergspark, Schönhauser Allee and, and, and. Institutions such as the Weinerei, the Lombardo Bar or the most delicious shawarma at Babel are a stone's throw away. You can shop at Mazooka, Superconscious or Goodhaus, and you can do your daily shopping at Edeka on Fürstenberger Straße or at Rewe in the Kulturbrauerei.
If you want to leave the neighborhood, take the tram in front of the door (stop Schwedter Str.) or the subway from Rosenthaler Platz. The main station can be reached in around 8 minutes by car and the BER in around 30 minutes.
