In the gently rolling landscape of the Uckermark, about an hour north of Berlin, a former fieldstone stable dating from around 1900 has been carefully transformed into a quiet country retreat. Set on a generous plot in the village of Flieth, the house combines the simple clarity of rural architecture with a contemporary, pared-back design. The approximately 2,315 m² plot is defined by a spacious garden, with an additional 5,297 m² of meadow and farmland directly behind the house available as an optional extension.
The house offers approximately 118 m² of living space and was renovated around eight years ago. The ground floor is organised as a generous open-plan living area where living, dining and cooking flow naturally into one another. A fireplace forms a warm focal point within the space, while large doors open the interior towards the garden and the surrounding fields. This level also includes a bedroom and a bathroom with a bathtub.
Inside, ceiling heights of up to six metres and an open gallery create a striking sense of space. Exposed timber beams, terrazzo floors with underfloor heating and Velux roof windows shape the atmosphere. The gallery accommodates a second sleeping area overlooking the living space below.
The material palette combines traditional building elements with carefully selected contemporary details. The thick fieldstone walls with brick sections are plastered inside, while new wooden windows with insulating glazing and traditional muntins echo the building’s rural origins. Heating is provided by a Buderus gas boiler, complemented by a solid wood fireplace. The fitted kitchen includes a gas hob and oven by SMEG, highlighted by an orange tap by Vola. Custom-made joinery integrates a refrigerator, freezer and washing machine by Miele.
The property also includes a second, unrenovated barn with a footprint of approximately 290 m² and considerable development potential. The house is sold including its inventory and is currently rented, becoming available from 1 July 2026. Combined with the generous garden, the additional land and the proximity to Gerswalde and the lakes of the Uckermark, this offers a rare opportunity to acquire a distinctive country house within easy reach of Berlin.
