INTERIOR
Welcome to this exciting attic apartment at Hiddenseer Straße 11 in Helmholtzkiez (Prenzlauer Berg). On a generous 126 square meters you will experience an open living/dining/kitchen area with an adjoining terrace, two bedrooms, a bathroom with bathtub and shower and a small utility room. The apartment also offers the possibility of implementing an alternative floor plan with a third bedroom.
The special thing about this attic is the visible load-bearing elements such as supports, beams and diagonal beams, which give the rooms a sculptural structure. The ceilings in the middle zone are almost horizontal and reach ceiling heights of up to 3.10 meters, while slightly sloping ceilings with various skylights can be experienced towards the side edges of the room.
A highlight of the apartment is the winter garden-like insertion of the roof terrace into the living/dining/kitchen area. The long glass front made of three double-leaf glass doors arranged in a corner merges the boundaries between the living room and the terrace when it opens. You can enjoy the view towards the TV tower at Alexanderplatz all year round and experience the impression of living in the countryside.
Another feature of this apartment is the abundant natural light that flows into all rooms and particularly illuminates the living room through the glass front.
The design of the apartment is characterized by a reduced palette of colors and materials. White dominates the smooth plastered ceilings and walls, while gray is used on the kitchen fronts, floor tiles and bathroom tiles. Natural wooden elements such as parquet floors, skirting boards, lattice windows and shelves create warm accents in the cooler colors of white and gray and emphasize the sculptural shape of ceilings, supports and walls.
EXTERIOR
The building on Hiddenseer Straße is a typical Wilhelminian style building that was extensively renovated in 1998. The loft conversion took place in 2001. The apartment has its own gas heating system. A cellar room and an inner courtyard with bicycle racks are also part of the offer.
The facade of the building is characterized by typical elements of historicism, including bay windows, balconies, perforated facades, lattice windows and stucco elements. What is striking is the curved gable with vertical and horizontal clinker brick bands, which refers to the architecture of the Hanseatic cities and gives the building an independent, yet appropriate appearance in the surrounding buildings.
When the attic was expanded, two modern dormers were planned symmetrically to the historic gable in order to harmoniously complement the appearance of the building. The pastel coloring of the facade emphasizes the decorative elements and gives the building a decorative character.
In the entrance area you will encounter authentic, historical elements such as the entrance door with glass windows and the cement tiles in the stairwell. Living here combines modernity and history in a reserved and harmonious way - a big city ambience that is calm and lively at the same time.
