The furniture in the apartment comes from HOLDHOLD, a young German label that stands for puristic and timeless design. This is combined with traditional craftsmanship. Of course, all pieces shown can be purchased.
INTERIOR
This newly renovated, beautiful old building apartment is only approx. 70 m away from the Ku'damm. On the mezzanine floor facing the green inner courtyard, you will experience tranquility on the one hand and lively life on the other.
Due to the efficiently organized floor plan, there is a closed kitchen on 53 m², which is located directly at the entrance. Then follows the daylight bathroom with shower. At the end of the short hallway you get into the large living room (approx. 22 m²) and from there into the separate bedroom. The connecting door creates a really spacious ambience.
Of course, the feeling of the old building, which is created by the many authentic features, is captivating. These include the room height of 3.30 m, the casement window with the lattice structure, the original floorboards, the historical door frames with the coffered door leaves, the stucco, the cast-iron radiators, etc.
All this could be preserved and has been lovingly renovated so that everything shines in new splendor. A Berlin cupboard in the kitchen is also one of them. Through an opening in the outer wall, groceries can be stored cool here in winter, without any power consumption.
Historical aesthetics paired with contemporary functionality. Bathroom and kitchen are state of the art. Again, beautiful and functional. During the renovation, great importance was attached to an unobtrusive design. The light sand tone in the living room, the light gray in the bathroom, the yellow in the kitchen and the light pistachio tone in the bedroom perfectly match the brown tone of the wooden floorboards. Doors, door jambs, baseboards, windows and ceilings shine in white, creating a delicate contrast. Wideness through brightness was the intention here.
In the bathroom, turquoise tones in the mosaic tiles ensure freshness and in the kitchen the Bordeaux red of the kitchen unit is an eye-catcher, offset by the anthracite gray floor and the gray worktop. Feeling good is guaranteed here. Classically beautiful ambience with the all-round advantages of an old building apartment from the Wilhelminian period.
EXTERIOR
An extremely noble address in the middle of Charlottenburg is offered here. The avenue trees on both sides and the front garden strip ensure an exclusive big city flair. The street as a whole impresses with its numerous old buildings from the turn of the century. Similar in size and style, this homogenous image of the district is created, intended for the upper middle classes who have settled here.
This target group was particularly taken into account in the entrance area. More like a lobby, you will find the most refined details here. Two mirrors bordered on both sides by double columns are reminiscent of halls of mirrors in castles. Mahogany wood on the doors and wall paneling stand for the then exotic in the choice of material. The highlight is a leather-covered bench to linger after a long shopping tour. The red sisal runner with the brass rails sets a colorful accent. As noble as the entrance door used to be, with its putti and leafy garland that greets residents and guests. In addition, the slug washers plus brass door handle and foot part, also made of brass.
Upper-class living finds its expression here. The sense of the beautiful, lush, opulent and steeped in history is still very impressive today. This also includes the staircase windows with colored glass; an inspiration from church windows - almost the daily visit to a museum in a bygone era directly in the house.
LOCATION
Hektorstrasse is a quiet residential street with old trees and connects Kurfürstendamm with Damaschkestrasse. It was named in 1892 after the Brandenburg Elector Joachim II Hektor.
The apartment is very quiet in the side wing and when you look into the many trees in the inner courtyard, you have no idea that you are only a 2-minute walk from the Ku'Damm. Here you will find everything a big city heart desires: shopping at KaDeWe, dining at Francucci's, probably the best neighborhood Italian restaurant, or shopping for classics from Vitra and USM Haller at smow Berlin.
You can go jogging in the morning around the nearby Lietzensee and then drink an espresso in the Stella boathouse.
In terms of transport, the Halensee and Charlottenburg S-Bahn stations (each a 9-minute walk) and the Adenauerplatz U-Bahn station are ideal for transport connections. The main station can be reached in about 16 minutes and the BER airport in about 28 minutes.
