INTERIOR
This impressive historic apartment is located at Goethestraße 69, in close proximity to Savignyplatz. On 180 m², you'll find an imposing hallway with the typical high ceilings, as in all the other rooms. From here, you enter the large kitchen/dining area. Through a historic double-wing door, you reach an even larger living area with an adjoining covered balcony. 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, and a dressing room complete the space, as well as the niche in the hallway for the washer and dryer.
The interior architecture, furnishings, and design are by Frank Stüve. He is known for his design concepts tailored to listed buildings. Deftly and carefully, he plans colours, shapes, materials, surfaces, and lighting concepts. The furnishing concept is also part of his remarkable work. Here, you will experience a typically aesthetic overall picture associated with his work. Frank draws inspiration form the original materials used in Historicism. Various types and colours of marble, different types of terrazzo, cement tiles, parquet flooring in various laying patterns, up to inlaid elements, renovated or appropriately supplemented stucco, smoothly plastered walls harmoniously arranged with colours from the renowned English manufacturer Farrow & Ball, etc. Modern elements are also subtly incorporated, such as ribbed glass doors with delicate metal fittings or the fitted kitchen with a central counter, executed in different materials and surfaces, and appliances from the prestigious manufacturer Gaggenau.
This living experience is extremely noble and tasteful, meticulously designed down to the last detail (carpets, curtains, furnishings). The intention to achieve coziness and comfort is combined with an absolutely luxurious implementation in all respects.
EXTERIOR
The residential building at Goethestraße 69 in Berlin-Charlottenburg was designed by the architects Curt and Arthur Reime. It was built in 1902/03, during the architectural period of Historicism. The building, originally conceived as a rental property, exhibits the typical, almost eclectic characteristics of this era. Besides neobaroque medallions as stucco between the windows, there are free blend gables that protrude over the hipped roof and are reminiscent of Renaissance models. Here too, there are medallion-like stucco or balustrade-like openings.
Classical symmetry with 2 emphasized side elements projecting like bays frames the central zone of the facade and offers space for greenery towards the street. Balconies, conservatories, and open balconies make the bays very diverse.
The entrance portal is strikingly symmetrical in the middle. The huge door with a round arch is flanked by two small niches also in round arch form. All of this is extensively framed by stucco to make the portal appear even larger.
Stylistically, this element is typical Art Nouveau, just like the facade plaster with longitudinal profiles. This mixture of architectural history with reference to the design of the avant-garde Art Nouveau movement at that time is extremely remarkable. Even then, old met new.
When entering the entrance hall, another "aha" moment awaits you. Representation and historical consciousness pure. Wood panels with Art Nouveau elements, stucco frieze with stylized grapevines, muntin windows for the concierge, free-standing staircase to the gallery with the basket arch plus gilded stucco arch are just some of the design elements that catch the eye here. The view of the paneled door with colored glass is another visual delight. Exceptional is the authentic, almost perfect condition. One feels just as nobly received as in the time of its creation. Bourgeois living from that time still palpably experienceable today. Something truly special about this diversity, this variety, this luxury.
LOCATION
The location at Goethestraße 69 is in the heart of Charlottenburg and offers its residents a high quality of life thanks to the extremely diverse character of its surroundings. Via the chic Schlüterstraße, you can reach Kurfürstendamm with its designer boutiques and fashionable flair in just over 10 minutes. The well-known Savignyplatz is also nearby and has traditionally been a meeting point for actors and intellectuals due to its location between the "Theater des Westens," "Renaissance-Theater," "Schiller-Theater," and the "Deutsche Oper." The bar-restaurants Paris Bar and Schwarzes Café on Kantstraße and Lubitsch on Bleibtreustraße are just a few examples of an established gastronomy scene that has held for decades and continues to enjoy great popularity. In the western direction, around Karl-August-Platz, there is the lively Charlottenburg neighborhood with daycare centers and schools, small shops, playgrounds, and a very popular colorful weekly market. Connected to public transportation, you're perfectly situated with the S-Bahn station "Savignyplatz," the U-Bahn stations "Deutsche Oper" and "Ernst-Reuter-Platz," as well as various bus lines.
