INTERIOR
This historic building is located in the newly designed Glint building ensemble in Friedrichstadt, where the government district is also located.
The apartment is spread over 63 m² and has a very large living/kitchen/dining area, a bedroom, a large bathroom, an entrance hall and a separate room for the washing machine and dryer.
During the renovation and redesign of this residential unit, great importance was attached to preserving old, historically valuable elements. This was particularly the case in the living/dining/kitchen area, where the coffered ceiling with its frieze was preserved in its entirety. The highlight in this room is of course the bay window, which provides a beautiful view of the small historic corner house on Glinka and Taubenstrasse.
By inserting a box, it was possible to preserve the overall space. With the box, the bathroom was virtually "pushed in", which was possible without any problems with a room height of approx. 3.60 m. The Siematic 29 style icon was attached to the free-standing box wall, an interpretation of the former kitchen buffet with a twinkle in the eye, as it now houses a fully-fledged kitchenette. From there, you can reach the large bedroom with its custom-made closet and integrated writing desk.
Overall, the apartment exudes exclusivity and noblesse. The smoked oak floorboards stand for homeliness and comfort. The gray walls, ceilings and window frames stand for elegance. In the bathroom, the black of the walls, ceilings and sanitaryware contrasts with the gold tone of the Vola brass fittings - exclusivity with an ultra-modern touch and contemporary esprit.
Everything here really is perfectly styled, which applies equally to the interior design (such as Illumina luminaires), fixtures (for example Le Creuset) and technology (Supersmart Lighting, as all luminaires can be operated via app). As this is a first-time occupancy, everything is "fresh". The perfect home for singles or couples who work a lot during the week and want to live exclusively. The concierge and the upscale living environment in Glint ensure a safe and quiet living environment.
EXTERIOR
The Glint is a newly renovated ensemble of buildings consisting of four listed Wilhelminian-style villas, which have been carefully supplemented by a new building. Historical details were revitalized and modern elements integrated. A central courtyard was designed from which all parts of the building can be accessed. It provides more light, more openness, more greenery and beautiful views. A place where you can meet other residents.
The historic stairwells are unique: wrought-iron railings, woodwork like in churches, cantilevered parts with figural elements, floral cement tiles or set pieces of historic wallpaper testify to the high standards with which the old was treated here. Pastel green and yellow add a touch of color.
This level of design also applies equally to the new building and the exterior design. The entire ensemble of buildings, both inside and out, showcases architecture, interior design and landscape architecture of a special class with an exceptionally loving and careful treatment of existing details. Beautiful living in a historic ambience with the highest standards of technology and design - quiet, tranquil and yet right in the center of Mitte.
LOCATION
Everything is within walking distance of the Glint: Friedrichstrasse, Pariser Platz with the Brandenburg Gate, and just behind it the government district invites you to stroll along the Spree and take a walk through the Großer Tiergarten. On the other side of Friedrichstrasse is probably the most magnificent square in Berlin, the Gendarmenmarkt, with the historic ensemble of the Berlin and French Cathedrals and the Konzerthaus - nowhere is Berlin more of a European metropolis.
Accordingly, this is also where Berlin's social and gastronomic life takes place; the Borchardt restaurant has long been one of Berlin's scene classics and the Wiener Schnitzel is legendary. But quieter alternatives to the hustle and bustle of the big city are not far away either - you can get a good white wine to go with French tarte flambée in the tongue-in-cheek wine tavern called Nö right on the doorstep.
The main train station can be reached in around 8 minutes by car and BER in around 35 minutes.
