INTERIOR
Beautifully renovated old-style apartment on the 1st floor of the front building (built in 1910) - Gründerzeit architecture with all the advantages that make such houses and apartments so extremely popular and sought-after. Ceiling heights of 3.20 m ensure beautifully proportioned rooms. The lattice windows of the right size and width promote this spatial effect, as do the historic doors with the door jambs and glass cassettes from the entrance to the living, dining and kitchen areas and to the bedroom. Various door sills, door handles and also the high baseboards were preserved and beautifully prepared. This is how the historical elements come into their own. They all ensure the extremely pleasant ambience and flair.
A beautiful color concept was implemented during the renovation, which also contributes to the cozy atmosphere of the apartment. The smoothly plastered walls were given a sand tone in the large, open living, dining and kitchen area, a gray dimmed old pink tone in the bedroom, a pastel gray-green in the hallway and a white-grey in the bathroom with its two rectangular windows. All colors harmonize with each other due to the same level of brightness, including the colour-coordinated doors. Even the switches gleam in a gradation of hue darker. Pleasant colours, beautiful to look at, which bring joy to living.
The plank floor was oiled white so that it reflects the light and makes the apartment even brighter. The fitted kitchen with its white kitchen fronts fits perfectly here. A special highlight is the balcony in front of the entire living area. The size and south-west orientation allows to be outside in the summer and enjoy the opportunities this balcony offers such as gardening, sunbathing, decorating, kitchen work and more. The location to the quiet inner courtyard offers pleasant privacy.
A pretty, lovingly designed living oasis was created - perfect for feeling good.
OTHER
The kitchen is from Nolte with appliances from Siemens and a Blanco sink and faucet. The high-quality furniture and lights (including from Flos) can be purchased if one likes them. A generous, dry basement room offers additional storage space.
EXTERIOR
Gellertstrasse is characterized by preserved Wilhelminian style buildings, three to four storeys high with bay windows, balconies, stucco and even more decoration. In addition, green front gardens, some with trees. A street of a special kind, because one can enjoy the charm and variety of the historicist facades on both sides of the street. The small shops at the street crossings are also typical. Urbanity where one forgets that you are in the middle of Cologne.
The charm of the old can also be experienced inside the building. Stucco rosette, ornamental frieze, coffered door with glass window, parapet limitation by profiled wooden strip and colored surfaces bear witness to the design standards of past generations. The steps made of terrazzo, a building material that is en vogue again today, are also striking. The iron railings with their rosettes of different diameters are also evidence of outstanding forging art, which also matches the wooden handrail. Experts were at work here. The large windows in the stairwell provide brightness, as do the white walls and ceilings. The residents enjoy cleanliness and well-groomedness here and together they ensure that it stays that way - a piece of "old" Cologne from the turn of the 20th century; quiet, manageable with a lot of flair inside and outside.
LOCATION
The Gellertstrasse is a beautiful, tree-lined residential street, with a small Saturday market in the immediate vicinity and a stone's throw from the Agnesviertel. In addition to culinary highlights such as the Willie Tanner tapas bar, wine en masse at Morio and delicious flat whites at Café Wölkchen, the cultural church, which is within walking distance, regularly offers innovative art, great concerts and moving moments in a special atmosphere.
In terms of transport, one is ideally connected and can reach the main train station and the Cologne trade fair in just 10 minutes and the airport in 20 minutes.
