INTERIOR
This extremely remarkable attic apartment is located on the 5th floor of a typical Wilhelminian style house in the neoclassical style. 216 m² offers 7 rooms, 3 bathrooms, 2 terraces and spectacular details, such as the stove with matching extractor hood, which is reminiscent of the old coal heating cooking stations from England, are just a few of the essential details that are highlighted here. With room heights of 2.90 m to 3.20 m with many window openings, you can experience the sky over Berlin, plus light, air and sun all day long. In addition to various roof windows and skylights, the oval and round windows with lattices, which were designed to match the historicist facade, stand out. The wall-sized glass elements on the terrace provide great views and also lots of light. Since the ceilings and walls are all white, you can experience pure brightness here.
The floor plan is divided into the living/dining/kitchen area of 100 m² alone, plus a soundproof study. A guest toilet is also assigned to this area. The 4 bedrooms, 3 of which are in their own wing, are assigned 2 bathrooms, one with a shower and one with a shower and bathtub. There is also a room for children reminiscent of an alcove. Private rooms and public areas are intelligently separated from each other in terms of floor plan.
In addition to the white, the brown tone of the solid oak floorboards dominates, which stands out so beautifully in all rooms and creates a warm ambience. An open fireplace is already planned here, which is intended to increase this feeling of comfort. The color concept is harmoniously complemented by the travertine stone in the bathrooms with its iridescent beige-brown-white tones. The eye-catcher here are the gold-colored fittings from the Italian luxury manufacturer Bellosta. The most sophisticated design everywhere, including the latest technical solutions: walk-in shower with channel-shaped drain, lamps with gold-colored reflectors from the same series in the bathrooms, in the bedroom and in the hallway and as a ceiling shelf in the living room, handle-free Siematic fitted kitchen with touch doors, to name just the most striking ones.
The apartment enchants with its restrained, very tasteful design, the harmony of the interior design, the noble design, the number and size of the rooms, which offer space through niches for lovely little things and places to retreat. Particularly, of course, the soundproof music room and the “secret room”. Beautiful living even for the very large family.
The elevator takes you effortlessly to the front door. In summary: exclusive and tasteful above the rooftops of Berlin.
EXTERIOR
This listed Wilhelminian style house is located at Erich-Weinert-Strasse 16 and was built in 1904. The ensemble has a front building and two side wings, between which a quiet, green courtyard is embedded. The building has undergone extensive renovations over the last 10 years. The street-side facade features the typical decorative elements of Wilhelminian style architecture. Perforated facade with large, standing window formats with lattice windows, projecting rows of balconies with closed window parapets and loggias at the back. The symmetry was strictly maintained, from the entrance door with the segmental arch made of stucco to the arched gable with the oval window. Everything shines in a new color scheme in pale gray rose.
You will also encounter this lovingly maintained ambience inside. The original splendor was restored as part of the renovation. Due to their authenticity, stucco, tiles with borders in the parapet area, cement tiles on the floor create that feeling of well-being that arises immediately upon entering. The staircase with the historic banister, the colored glass panes, the matching colored sisal runners, etc. is also part of it. The splendor of the time it was created is tastefully reflected in the colors. An all-round successful result where living is fun.
LOCATION
Erich-Weinert-Strasse 16 is located in Humannkiez and is one of the most prominent areas in Prenzlauer Berg, with many cafes, trees and families. The sweet Café Schneiderei has the most delicious tarts, at Café Bornträger the kids can run around in the neighboring playground and in Frau Mittenmang there is probably the best culinary offer with the most friendly crew in Berlin. Of course, there are also a number of cozy spots around Helmholtzplatz and Stargarder Straße, which is a cute shopping street. Here you can find the best ice cream at Hokey Pokey or indulge in Swedish sweets at Mr. Nilsson. The Carl Humann Elementary School and the Käthe Kollwitz High School are just around the corner and several daycare centers are just a stone's throw away. In the new Rewe on Pappelallee you can get your daily needs and chill out in the park at the beautiful Humannplatz or play table tennis.
If you ever want to leave, just walk around the corner to Schönhauser Allee and from there you can reach the main station in just under 20 minutes and BER airport in around one hour. And if you want to drive north towards Uckermark with its beautiful lakes such as Oberuckersee or Wolletzsee, you can get there in no time (under an hour) as the motorway starts just a few kilometers north.
