INTERIOR
This loft apartment in Lokdepot 11 has 162 m² and is on the 6th floor of the building, i.e. at the very top and alone above the former track area in Kreuzberg. Living room (approx. 25 m²), dining room (approx. 16 m²) to the open kitchen (approx. 17 m²) with a long and wide counter that can be used on both sides, large bathroom and guest toilet and spacious hallway with built-in cupboard are the extremely generous space, but the could easily be extended by 2 separate rooms.
What is special are the 1 1/2 storey rooms with a height of 4.35 m. As a result, there is a half-storey offset, large storage room, which is above the bathrooms. Following the flight of stairs, you reach the approximately 50 square meter roof terrace with roof garden. There is another balcony in front of the living room and the kitchen.
Various custom-fit fittings ensure the implementation of the functional floor plan concept. In terms of design, the apartment also impresses with its stringency. Smoothly plastered walls in white, floor-to-ceiling glass elements, some with fixed glass, some with glass doors or window sashes, also in white, come up against black-stained beech parquet flooring that has been laid in all rooms. Matching the Bulthaup b3 kitchen, also black.
Round wall lights and spherical ceiling lights in the classic Bauhaus style also correspond to the principles of Bauhaus design; Black and white, square/rectangular/circle/sphere, matt-glossy as classic contrasts of the basic shapes and colors and surfaces.
The built-in cupboards also fit seamlessly in terms of design, as do the floor-to-ceiling doors in a rhythmic sequence and the white-stained steps as a kind of stairway to the roof terrace.
Design from a single source - uncompromising down to the objects and fittings in the bathroom. Design with taste based on knowledge, information and education. An approach viable also in the future, because not subject to fashion. Something for connoisseurs and lovers of the most demanding, puristic architecture and interior design.

EXTERIOR
This award-winning building by Robertneun Architects was built on the former railway site at Gleisdreieck.
The six-storey buildings rise on a red brick base. The adaptation of features of Hanseatic warehouses and industrial buildings from the turn of the century is unmistakable. The concrete was colored red to match the brick red. All aluminum windows and all visible steel elements (balcony railings, steel supports, etc.) are red.
The interior of the building is also presented in the rough style of industrial architecture. Concrete ceilings, concrete floors, concrete steps, industrial lamps, industrially manufactured banisters and exposed brickwork in red clinker create this characteristic, austere ambience, as it was intended. Contemporary architecture, which stands out so pleasantly due to the stringency of the design in the implementation. Uncompromising down to the last detail, how the design qualities of industrial architecture from the turn of the 20th century were transferred to today's residential construction.
Truly remarkable and already an excellent example to be proposed for a monument list of outstanding architecture of the 2020s. Chapeau!
LOCATION
The absolute highlight is almost directly on the doorstep: the Park am Gleisdreieck. On the more than 30 hectares of green space, people can skate, play table football, basketball or table tennis. Prams are pushed around and bellies stretched out in the sun on the sunbathing lawn. There is even a wooden sundeck with a sandy area in front of it.
The area also has a lot to offer: during the day you can watch what's going on in the park from the terrace in the colorful Tor Eins, for lunch you should definitely go to Lok 6 and in the evening to Osteria No 1 - classic and good or if you want something upscale to Vino e Cucina.
If you prefer to cook at home, you will find the finest ingredients in Mitte Meer, a 4-minute walk away.
One is connected via the Yorckstrasse S-Bahn station (approx. 6 minutes by foot) and the Yorckstrasse U-Bahn station (approx. 9 minutes by foot). Alternatively, of course, one of the numerous CarSharing cars or your own car in the underground car park.
