INTERIOR
This attic apartment is really a creative gem and is something for absolute design freaks. On 86 m² there is a large living/dining and kitchen area with a wide terrace in front of it. Two large rooms and a bathroom with separate shower and bathtub as well as a small hallway are also part of the space. The special feature is the height of the rooms (approx. 2.8 - 3 m), which means that the ceilings are almost straight.
A large incision in the living area creates a large terrace with room-high, floor-to-ceiling glazing and sliding doors. This creates a connection between outside and inside and you can enjoy the wide view over the roofs of Berlin in summer as well as in winter.
The bedroom has a beautiful, barrel-shaped dormer and the study is lit by windows in the sloping roof, as is the bathroom. Various wooden supports zone the premises. The fitted kitchen, like the wardrobe, was perfectly integrated into a niche thanks to a custom-made product.
The entire apartment with its smoothly plastered walls was painted in a soft pastel green, which goes perfectly with the color of the oak parquet flooring, laid in exciting staggered rectangles.
The bathroom is also a highlight in terms of interior design. Gray mottled tiles measuring 60 x 60 cm form the perfect background for the white fittings and objects. The rectangular washbasin fits as a contrast to the circular mirror. Playing with the basic forms is also very convincing here in terms of design.
The result is an all-round successful design experience that leaves nothing to be desired. An oasis of good taste, bright, sunny and in the middle of Berlin.
OTHER
The wooden floor is naturally oiled "Formpark Mini" oak from Bauwerk, the sockets are from Busch Jäger "future linear", the door handles are Cubic Color. In the kitchen there is the Vola fitting 590H-70 in brass and a brass washbasin from Lavabo, a fridge and freezer from Siemens, a dishwasher from Neff, a hob from Bora, an oven from AEG and a wine cooler from Liebherr . The bathroom features a bath from Badeloft BW 06 XL, a Caldera 90 washbasin from Vallone and fittings from Zucchetti.
A spacious basement offers additional storage space.
EXTERIOR
This unique attic unit was built on a beautiful Wilhelminian style building in Schöneberg. The 5-storey building has a magnificent facade decorated with rich stucco. Many forms that have been handed down historically were brought together and used in this way. Rustic motif in the base, keystones above the windows, plaster frames, triangular gables, balustrade, frieze on the edge of the roof, and, and, and.
All this could be preserved and makes this building so precious. The double-leaf, high front door also gives the building this noble character, which at the time was based on the aesthetic demands of the upper middle class.
This noblesse is also experienced on the inside. In the entrance you will find the original terrazzo floor, stucco frieze on the ceiling, stucco as a simulated brick pattern, etc. All of this in brilliant white with an anthracite-grey entrance door with wood and glass panels and a linear strip that is intended to mark a kind of parapet. A state-of-the-art designer ceiling lamp was placed as a statement on the current renovation period. The natural-colored sisal runner also links the present with the past. The beautifully turned banisters in white are in carefully selected contrast to the black handrail and the side step borders or visible surfaces of the steps and risers.
A feast for the eyes that was created through perfectly executed renovation and restrained design. Pure aesthetics with and in which you simply feel comfortable.
LOCATION
The Akazienkiez is one of the most popular neighborhoods in Berlin. Chic Gründerzeit buildings in an upscale environment and yet there is always something going on - whether at 8 a.m. in the morning or at 11 p.m. at night. Restaurants, cafés and bars are lined up along Goltzstrasse and Akazienstrasse in particular. In between there are great delicatessens and boutiques where you can go shopping.
The best way to start the day is at Double Eye - fantastic coffee, as are the croissants, Franzbrötchen and Pastel de Natas. Shop for vintage industrial furniture at J&V and then stroll along Goltzstraße. If it's a market day (Wednesdays and Saturdays), be sure to make a detour across Winterfeldtplatz. In the evening you can end the day at Lagalante - authentic and creative Italian cuisine from Puglia.
You are connected either via the Eisenacher Straße subway (3 minutes' walk) or the Julius-Leber-Brücke S-Bahn station (around 10 minutes). Or you can jump on an e-scooter, into a car-sharing or your own vehicle.
