INTERIOR
Set within a listed historic building in leafy Friedenau, this characterful period apartment has been thoughtfully modernized and is now ready for first occupancy. The result is a harmonious blend of timeless charm and contemporary comfort.
The floor plan follows a classic, well-proportioned layout that offers clarity and a natural flow. A centrally located hallway connects all rooms, enhancing the sense of space and orientation. Through a door adorned with original leaded glass, a graceful nod to the building’s heritage, the generously sized living room unfolds, featuring warm solid-wood floorboards and a signature bay window. From here, views open onto lush greenery, and the northwest exposure ensures soft, ambient daylight throughout the day.
The eat-in kitchen is another standout: vintage wall tiles, a large window, and space for a dining table create a warm, convivial centerpiece to daily life. Alternatively, the kitchen could be integrated into the living room to form a bright, open-plan space. The former kitchen could then be repurposed as a second bedroom or a dedicated workspace. This flexible layout adapts beautifully to individual lifestyles.
The bedroom is tucked away to the side of the building, as is the kitchen, offering quietude and comfort. A clever recessed niche provides additional storage or the perfect spot for bespoke cabinetry. The compact bathroom has been updated with a clean, modern sensibility, featuring greige ceramic tiles, natural light, and a sleek, space-saving shower.
Freshly plastered and painted walls, soaring ceilings, and a curated mix of restored original details and contemporary finishes lend the apartment a distinct personality. Refined yet relaxed, it offers a home full of character.
EXTERIOR
The four-story building is a striking example of Friedenau’s rich architectural legacy. Its asymmetrically composed façade is full of visual rhythm and nuance, shaped by two prominent vertical bays that house loggias and define the structure’s playful depth. A curved oriel window on the southern side echoes its twin on the adjacent building, creating an elegant dialogue between neighboring façades.
To the north, cantilevered balconies add vertical punctuation, while sections of finely detailed tilework on the upper floors provide a lively contrast to the pale plaster façade. The ensemble is topped with a classic red-tiled mansard roof punctuated by dormers, forming a sculptural crown that grounds the building in Berlin’s architectural tradition.
Inside, the common areas remain true to the building’s original spirit. The staircase impresses with its dark wood handrail, finely profiled balusters, and an original stained-glass window that casts a soft, colorful glow. The overall condition of the shared property reflects a clear respect for historic craftsmanship. Understated, dignified, and enduring.

This apartment enjoys a prime position along Südwestkorso, one of Friedenau’s most coveted avenues. Independent cafés, bookstores, and specialty shops lend the neighborhood a refined, local charm.
