INTERIOR
The apartment is located on the 1st floor and faces south towards the large, quiet courtyard. The floor plan was planned very carefully so that the square meters were optimally used.
From the entrance area one enters almost directly into the spaciously designed living / kitchen / dining area, which is also bordered by a spacious balcony. This linear combination of cooking, eating, living, indoor and outdoor makes the apartment very bright and transparent. This gives an impression of spaciousness, which is underlined by the room height of 3.10 m.
A bedroom is adjacent to this area, which has enough space for a large wall unit and a double bed.
The kitchen in a corner version also offers plenty of space to accommodate all utensils. The bathroom is very large with a bathtub, shower and wash basin because it enables the convenience and luxury of taking a bath. The objects come from well-known manufacturers such as Agape and Grohe.
Here, many elements of "beautiful living" are presented - perspectives, views, light, air and sun combined with well-thought-out functionality in all areas of living, working and storage; a contemporary living concept at the highest level.
The same applies to the visual design, which is based on white walls and doors, solid oak parquet (including underfloor heating) and large-format tiles in light beige. This selection of materials, paired with their subtle colors, allow the apartment to merge into a whole. Highlights here are the soundproof, floor-to-ceiling windows, which can rather be called glass walls. Thus, this unique transparency is created.
The latest technology is of course also part of this: an elevator all the way from the underground car park to the front door, a modern locking system, video intercom, entrance door with triple locking, electrically controlled sun blinds, to name just a few special features.
The location to the inner courtyard ensures pleasantly quiet living, so that one hardly notices living in the middle of Berlin just around the corner from Potsdamer Platz. All in all, one gets a central location, sunny, calm privacy, a sophisticated design concept including cultivated elegance. In other words, the highest living ambience for the discerning client.
EXTERIOR
The building complex is located on the corner of Schönefelder Ufer / Potsdamer Strasse in the Tiergarten district. The building originally dates from the 1960s and was redesigned by the architecture firm ioo from 2012 to 2015. After complete gutting, a luxurious living ensemble was created, which was named "The View".
By maintaining the building boundaries, the spacious courtyard with old trees was preserved. The architecture refers to its surroundings; functional, objective, as propagated and embodied by Mies van der Rohe's New National Gallery just opposite.
Vertical and horizontal lines, rectangular and square shapes, transparent, light-reflecting glass surfaces and closed concrete parts determine the architectural appearance. Colors such as anthracite gray, light gray or muted red also create a harmonious overall picture. International style, also called functionalism, is given a modern implementation that is so typical of the present. Good proportions, building heights adapted to the environment, materials according to the maxims of functional construction fit seamlessly here. Skillful architecture in a historic, unique surrounding right at the Berlin Landwehr Canal.
The architectural design guidelines can also be seen inside. Straight and closed stairways with an attached, linear handrail made of steel and steps and floors made of terrazzo - all in puristic white and black. The connoisseur associates all of this with the Bauhaus tradition. Cultivated cleanliness, absolute brightness, rationality paired with taste, fact-based on material and color theory are all creating this outstanding coherence in the overall design appearance.
LOCATION
A variety of Berlin's attractions is just right on the doorstep. Directly opposite the world-famous Neue Nationalgalerie, a few steps further the Philharmonie, the Gemäldegalerie and Potsdamer Platz, which offers everything from film premieres and gastronomic highlights to shopping in the Mall of Berlin.
Along the Landwehr Canal one has the best conditions for a jogging tour or why not choosing the green lung of Berlin, the Tiergarten, which is only an 8-minute walk away. The main train station is just 9 minutes away and BER Airport approx. 30 minutes.
