INTERIOR
This spacious period apartment seamlessly blends historic charm with contemporary design at the highest level. Original doors and frames, beautifully preserved stucco, approximately 5-meter-long Douglas fir floorboards (with recessed heating pipes for a modern feel), and a consistent ceiling height of 3.05 meters define the space, imbuing the entire apartment with an exceptional sense of generosity and elegance.
The expansive entrance area ends with a stylish mirrored door leading to the first of the two bathrooms, creating a successful transition between classic elements and modern touches.
The heart of the apartment is the open-plan living, dining, and kitchen area. The living room, with access to the northwest-facing balcony (sun from the afternoon onwards), opens up to the high-end Next125 kitchen, featuring a Systemo ceramic countertop, a Miele oven, a Bosch push-to-open fridge-freezer combo, a Bora cooktop with integrated exhaust system, a black Blanco sink with faucet, and a Bosch dishwasher. The Flowerpot pendant lights by &Tradition provide a stylish highlight, complementing the design of the striking green kitchen.
The layout allows for up to three bedrooms, all complemented by the spacious living room. The room on the right side, south-facing, overlooks the peaceful, green courtyard and is separated from the entrance area by a wooden-glass partition, ensuring a well-lit atmosphere. The left-side room boasts an elegant double door leading to the living room. The master bedroom is also oriented toward the quiet courtyard.
Two interior, ventilated bathrooms feature high-end fixtures:
- Bathroom 1: Centrally located, with a passage to the walk-in closet, it impresses with terrazzo tiles, black Grohe fixtures, Geberit sink, and Villeroy & Boch WC.
- Bathroom 2: Features a Camarque bathtub, black HansGrohe fixtures, V&B/Geberit ceramics, and a connection for a washing machine.
A built-in wardrobe with a Buderus gas boiler ensures discreet integration of technology. Double-box windows to the street and new wooden windows to the courtyard highlight the successful fusion of old and new. Exposed brickwork and white-painted steel beams create intentional design accents, adding a stylish, modern touch to the apartment.
EXTERIOR
The façade of this remarkable building stands as a masterpiece of European architecture, reflecting the classical style of the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Cloaked in a subtle, creamy white, the building exudes an understated elegance. The window frames and delicate balcony railings are designed in a deep, contrasting hue that accentuates the façade’s light charm and creates a captivating visual dialogue between light and shadow.
The architecture follows a clean, symmetrical design, enriched by classical details such as pilasters and cornices. Balconies with intricately adorned railings frame the windows, adding an extra layer of sophistication. The façade’s smooth, finely plastered finish presents a flawless surface, allowing the pure elegance of the material to take center stage.
Upon entering the building, the stairwell unfolds as a quiet ode to classical craftsmanship. The gently winding spiral staircase draws the eye upwards, with its intricately carved wooden balustrade and matching wooden handrail, featuring finely engraved details at the base. The brown sisal runner, with its matte texture capturing the interplay of light and shadow, harmonizes with the neutral tones of the stairwell, enhancing the sense of calm and timelessness.
The symmetry and serene elegance of this architecture create an atmosphere that transports the viewer to a different era, a time when craftsmanship and aesthetics were in perfect harmony.
