Light, clean lines, and thoughtfully modernized interiors
The apartment is located on the first floor of a classic Kreuzberg period building near Paul-Linke-Ufer. The stairwell, with its original tiled floor and delicate wall detailing, sets the tone from the outset. An east-west orientation allows for balanced natural light throughout the day, while the balcony facing the quiet courtyard provides a sheltered outdoor extension.
The floor plan is calm and clearly structured, with all rooms opening directly off a central entrance hall. The living room impresses with generous proportions, high ceilings, newly added cornicing and restored herringbone parquet flooring. Large windows and solid wood window sills underline the apartment’s classical character and give the space a natural sense of presence.
The bedroom is conceived as a distinct, self-contained retreat, separated from the living area yet continuing its consistent design language. Herringbone parquet, clean lines and a cohesive choice of materials define the room, complemented by typical period ceiling heights and a calm, focused atmosphere. The separate kitchen opens onto the balcony and combines everyday functionality with a quiet, courtyard-oriented outdoor setting. The bathroom provides a deliberate contrast, with concrete ciré surfaces paired with precise detailing and high-quality fittings by Geberit, Grohe and Villeroy & Boch, complemented by bespoke wooden cabinetry.
The apartment’s technical infrastructure has been modernised and, in parts, completely renewed. The street-facing windows were installed several years ago, while radiators and pipework were partially replaced. The entire sanitary installation in both bathroom and kitchen has been fully renewed. The result is a balanced interplay of historic architecture and contemporary comfort, set within one of Kreuzberg’s most vibrant yet relaxed neighbourhoods.
