This unique house, designed by Javier Barba, stands out as one of his early projects and the first of its kind in terms of bioclimatic design. The land's characteristics, including a steep slope and a busy road on top, along with its favorable orientation and beautiful views, led to the decision to partially bury the house. By integrating the roof into the natural slope of the hill, the visual impact on the landscape is minimized, and the house takes advantage of natural thermal and acoustic insulation.

Upon entering the house, you'll be greeted by a cave-like entrance that opens up into a courtyard, flooding the living room with natural light. The elongated floor plan is designed to face south, ensuring that all rooms are filled with sunlight and allowing for excellent airflow. The breathtaking views of the Mediterranean coast further enhance the experience.

This environmentally conscious house achieves significant energy savings by utilizing green roofs and concrete walls. The clean lines dominate the floor plan, with one exception—a semicircular wall that houses the living room, adding a touch of uniqueness to the design. This project received recognition from the European Commission in 1989 and was selected as one of the world's best sustainable houses, seamlessly blending into its surroundings, at the George Wright Forum.
