Meet Margret Trimborn

For an artistically and culturally unique property like the Riverside Loft in Frankfurt Hattersheim, we have found the ideal setting to collaborate with local artist Margret Trimborn and took the opportunity to have a conversation with her about her art and inspiration on site.

How would you describe your art in three words?
Passion - Intuition - Emotion

These three terms accurately describe me and my art. Painting is my passion; I let myself be guided intuitively in the process, fully immerse myself in the act, and respond to the current stage of the painting. While every piece starts with an idea that needs realization, what's even more intriguing is embracing the painting's development and carrying it forward harmoniously. The emotional aspect in my work influences whether a piece becomes color-intensive and expressive or color-reduced and minimalist.

Who is your target audience? In what spatial environment do you envision your art?
My predominantly large-format works have a particular impact in spaces with a timeless elegant interior featuring designer pieces. For me, the motto is: less is more!

Art as an investment? How do you feel about it?
The question of art as an investment is one that everyone can and must decide for themselves. For me, art is primarily a "source of joy"! My works are meant to delight the viewer. The most beautiful thing is when a collector embarks on a new journey within the painting, discovering intriguing details. Often, a brief glance at the painting is enough to provide a moment of joy, to divert from everyday themes, and to offer motivation. And if the thought also arises that the purchase of this painting was a good investment, all the better!

What's your favorite source of inspiration?
My favorite and most exciting source of inspiration is my surroundings, primarily nature, of course, but also architecture, decaying industrial buildings—there are no limits for me. It's important to observe the world with open eyes, to notice and discover the small details, colors, structures – everywhere there's an inexhaustible supply of ideas for the next works.

Who's your current favorite artist?
There are artists who have been "accompanying" and inspiring me for years, whose works evoke exactly what I wish for viewers of my own works: immersion in the painting, getting lost in it, simply a feeling of boundless joy. For me, these are primarily Pierre Soulages, Cy Twombly, and Yves Klein, but Asian artists also captivate me with their often very minimalist works.

What keywords come to mind regarding Fantastic Frank?
Fantastic Frank impresses with a portfolio of extraordinary properties in special locations, combined with professionalism and high quality—terms that I also uphold as standards in my own work and actions.
