INTERIOR
This 128 m² penthouse apartment is on the 5th floor of a new building from 2020/21, which was designed by the well-known architect Birgit Wessendorf.
In addition to a very large living / dining / kitchen area (around 45 m²), the apartment has two bedrooms, a small children's or study, a large bathroom with bathtub, a guest toilet and a hallway with a large niche for a built-in wardrobe.
In addition to the waterfront location on the Weißer See, the apartment impresses with balconies to each room, French balcony in the bedroom and a roof terrace (approx. 65 m²) that can be reached via an external staircase. So one can enjoy the wonderful views of the lake in summer as well as in winter. The floor-to-ceiling glass elements in all rooms also guarantee this close connection between outside and inside. So there is light, air and sun in abundance and that over the roofs of Berlin. Pure penthouse feeling!
With pleasant room heights, ceiling-high, floor-to-ceiling window elements and matching high doors, a luxurious impression is created. Function perfectly implemented in classy design. The selected materials match. Oak parquet, oiled white, triple-glazed wooden window elements, also glazed white, framed by wooden cladding in a matching color and material.
The ceilings and other walls are smoothly plastered and designed in a sophisticated color concept. Sand, nougat and creamy white create a warm ambience. The kitchen unit by Warendorf in white as well as the door frames, door leaves and skirting boards ensure a harmonious transition between the white pigmented oak floor and the colored wall surfaces.
In the bathrooms, gray-green, large slate tiles, white objects and chrome determine the appearance.
Classic aesthetics in light shades from gray and brown to white. A timeless architectural interpretation of classical modernism based on Gropius or Mies van der Rohe in the present has succeeded in this project. Design ideas and designs are impressive and the overall result is elegant.
Something for enthusiasts who appreciate successful interpretations of modernism from the 1920s.
OTHER
Further highlights are: underfloor heating, ventilation system (with fine dust and pollen filter), electric sun blinds (infinitely adjustable), integrated spotlight system, video intercom, separate cellar room, communal bicycle storage room, parking space with preparation for e-charging station (no duplex) optionally for 50,000 euros available, small community of owners, large (13-) passenger elevator, playground in the yard, heating via a block-type thermal power station (i.e. efficient and inexpensive "home-made" electricity) and direct access to the lake via the property.
EXTERIOR
The architecture from 2020/21 is a striking example of sophisticated contemporary architecture that relates to the surrounding buildings.
Building height, eaves height with recessed attic storey with balconies in front of it take up the heights of the neighboring building.
The perforated façade, partly in a classic row, partly staggered, and with asymmetrical muntin division and one-sided beveled window reveal, create a modern façade that does not want to be too prominent towards the neighbors. The subtle colors of the facade panels also underline this subdued appearance.
This is clearly different on the back, where generous glass surfaces, building projections and recesses, balconies and terraces make the appearance appear much more expressive. Here the form follows the function.
In terms of design, industrial materials are sometimes used, such as wire mesh as a railing infill or glass panes as a parapet on the French balconies. Here, too, discreetly restrained in color. All of this perfectly executed and in a condition as if the building had only just been ready for occupancy.
Technical standards are of course at the highest level. For example, e-charging stations are currently being installed in the underground parking spaces, or the elevator extends from the underground parking garage to your own front door. The latest "beautiful living" on and around the Weißer See!
LOCATION
The television series "Weissensee" has made the district known beyond the borders of Berlin. Formerly known for the many craftsmen in the backyards (and now the beautiful industrial buildings), and today still somewhat in the shade of hip neighborhoods (luckily!), Weissensee is still a somewhat hidden pearl in the northeast of Berlin. But a stroll through the district can inspire both nostalgics and trendsetters. Why? Small town feeling, sunset at the Weißer See, hidden gourmet restaurants in the back yard, art college, the Brotfabrik (cinema, theater stage, photo gallery and more) and a totally relaxed life in the "big city" only 10 minutes away from Alexanderplatz.
One is connected via the Falkenberger Strasse / Berliner Allee tram station, practically right on the doorstep (several lines run there such as the M4 and 27). Alternatively, one can hop into a Car2Go and reach Prenzlauer Berg and Mitte in a few minutes and the A10 motorway in around 20 minutes.
