INTERIOR
This 130 square meter apartment is on the 3rd floor located in a historicist ensemble on Pastor-Niemöller-Platz in Pankow. Almost free-standing, the building is surrounded by green spaces. From above you can enjoy the view of the large, green square in front of the house.
The apartment is in a perfectly renovated condition as is the entire residential building. It has a very large living and dining area, two bedrooms, bathroom and of course a terrace (towards the west).
Various windows, some designed as French balconies or skylights, allow a lot of daylight to enter into the apartment. The orientation to the northeast, south and southwest also promotes this "always bright feeling" in the apartment. Views into the treetops are evidence of the greenery that characterizes the area.
The very spacious master bedroom with a very large built-in wardrobe (from the Italian luxury manufacturer Rimadesio), which can be used as a storage room due to its size, also offers a French balcony and a great view of the treetops.
The loft above offers the option of an extension of around 60 m². The walls of the apartment are all smooth and have different warm, sand-colored tones. These harmonize with the wood tone of the floors, the pillars, the kitchen fronts or the door frame of the sliding glass door. Furthermore, the beige sand tones also match the white of the windows.
The restriction to a few colors creates a calm atmosphere. The expressive forms of the roof take a back seat due to the restrained colors.
The bathroom, all in white, is also a mix of restrained understatement and expressive design. This includes in particular the washbasin with the fitting and the mirror. In the meantime it has become a style icon (created by the star designer Philipp Starck), here arranged into a typical ensemble. (Washbasin from Duravit and mixers from Axor).
This is where the demands on design are expressed in everyday life. Originality that is extremely rare. Something for people with taste who appreciate something special.
OTHER
Central heating with modern radiators, wooden windows with double glazing, only 14 units in the community, additional storage space in the basement. The inventory shown comes from the Danish designer furniture manufacturer BoConcept and can also be purchased if required.
EXTERIOR
This historic property is absolutely striking. Height and size are still exemplary in their scale. This, coupled with the playful use of pillars, columns, winter gardens, balconies, wall friezes or glare gables, i.e. with building elements from bygone eras, testify to the quality standards of this architectural era. Very successful and for that very reason still highly valued today.
Everything has been perfectly worked up and cautiously supplemented with new elements, including the French balcony on the gable side. Entrance and staircase have also been restored with great attention to detail and shine as splendidly as they once did after completion. Historical ambience as beautiful as in museums.
LOCATION
Pastor-Niemöller-Platz is in the middle of Pankow-Niederschönhausen. In the young GDR the political greats lived here - and once you are here you understand why they liked it. The quiet streets with many villas, single and multi-family houses are a family idyll and an area to relax. The district is also wonderfully green. The large Volkspark Schönholzer Heide is around the corner as well as popular Pankow Bürgerpark.
If you want entertainment, go to the movies at Blauer Stern in Hermann-Hesse-Straße 1996, when it comes to culinary delights one is in good hands at auszeit and the children should visit the Pinke-Panke children's farm.
And if you want to (or have to) leave at some point, you can comfortably take the M1 tram, which is only a 1-minute walk away - taking you all the way to Mitte. With the car you can also be on the 96a in the beautiful Uckermark in no time.
