INTERIOR
This beautifully refurbished old building apartment is located in Neukölln, the hip district par excellence in Berlin. It is on the 1st floor of the front building and extends to the inner courtyard. The room program includes a great, large living/dining/kitchen area of over 40 m², a bedroom, a study/guest room and a daylight bathroom. The entrance zone, which also includes a separate cloakroom, leads directly into the living/dining/kitchen area. The other rooms are practically different.
The north-east/south-west orientation ensures brightness and sun in all rooms. The location of the bedroom and study facing the inner courtyard allows you to sleep and work in peace. The balcony can be accessed from two zones. The two glass door-window combinations ensure extremely large window openings and, together with the location on the 1st floor, ensure beautiful, bright light and a beautiful view of the treetops of the avenue trees.
The special thing about this apartment is the spectacularly successful conversion. This really very large living area was created by a wide steel beam, which is also supported by a filigree steel support. The kitchen with the center counter is also optically separated from the living/dining area by a small platform step. This is how the old building rooms come into their own, here with room heights of up to 4 m. Width, openness is so skilfully implemented.
A restrained, elegant design concept, based on the colors black and white, matches this. White smooth walls, white lattice windows, white lacquered doors and the white lacquered wooden floor. In contrast, black. Black steel girder, filigree, black steel column, black fitted kitchen with matching lamps and a black fireplace. The rain forest marble worktop and the beige-grey stone tiles in the bathroom add color nuances. But here, too, there is a contrast to the black washbasin and faucet.
So a stringent, modern design concept that is used throughout the apartment. Scandinavian ambience, as you wish. Reduced, reserved with understatement for good design, taste, aesthetics, i.e. the highest demands on beautiful living.
EXTERIOR
The apartment is located in a classic old building from the Wilhelminian period, which has been completely renovated in recent years. As a result, it shines in its solid, old glory. Large, high standing window formats with sash bars, arranged regularly next to and on top of each other, balconies in front with closed stone parapets combined with small oriels, etc. characterize this characteristic appearance.
This vertical and horizontal orientation gives this pleasant, visual support through the logical structure. This is what makes the neighborhoods so popular and makes living here so popular. The interior of the building also appears fresh, tidy and beautifully renovated, with essential building elements remaining intact. These include wooden stairs with steps, railings, handrails and platforms with lattice windows, etc. All of this in a delicate beige tone.
Here, too, tastefully reduced, beautiful and well-kept. The old ways were treated with respect, without completely abandoning innovations, especially in the technical area. Cultivated living to feel good has succeeded here.
LOCATION
You are right in the heart of Neukölln. More multiculturalism is hardly possible. From the hip breakfast café Roamers, to the internationally renowned bistro Beuster (the ceviche is a must) to shisha bars and Turkish bakeries with Baklava again and again - everything is offered here. The Landwehr Canal, only 4 minutes away, ensures pure relaxation. Sunbathing, putting your feet in the water or just being.
If you want to get away, hop on the M41 almost right in front of the front door, take the subway from Karl-Marx-Strasse or the S-Bahn from Sonnenallee. You can reach the BER airport in just under 25 minutes and you can be at the main station in about the same time.
