INTERIOR
This apartment with a wonderful bohemian atmosphere has the typical features of classic old apartments: ceiling heights of about 3.44 m, large, wide cassette-like wooden doors with decorated door frames, box windows with brass fittings, natural and varnished wooden floorboards, ribbed radiators - everything is original.
The walls are for mostly smoothly plastered and kept in white, as are doors and windows, creating a unified overall picture.
In the living room a smart pedestal serves during the day for the design of a complete living space. In the evening you can easily extend the underlying rollaway bed.
The kitchen offers a matte white kitchen with sink, oven/stove and fridge. There is also enough space for a dining table for 4 people and another tall cupboard. Further storage space is provided by the suspended ceiling in the corridor, where one or the other suitcase, dinghy or moving boxes can be hidden.
The apartment offers great design options and by moving the kitchen into the living room you could create a small, fine 2-bedroom apartment. See alternative floor plan.
The orientation to the west, the location on the second floor of the front building without opposite buildings and the large, high windows make this apartment very bright. The treetops close at hand convey a relaxed feeling and provide cooling on hot summer days. Here you can experience and enjoy the specific ambience of old buildings on a compact scale.
EXTERIOR
The simple perforated façade with the standing window formats already shows from the outside why old buildings are so popular. High rooms, numerous large windows, natural materials such as wood or plaster, ornamentation, etc. The front door suggests what will continue inside.
In the staircase one finds turned balusters and solid wood steps. The front door is made of solid wood with beautiful glass details. The colored ceramics are also included here. This creates this familiar and popular old building ambience.
The cellar has been largely renovated and the associated basement room comprises of about 6 square meters. The heating and hot water treatment of the apartment goes via a central heating (gas).
The property is located in the conservation area "Schillerpromenade".
LOCATION
The Lichtenrader Strasse is located in the middle of the Schillerkiez and "it is the most beautiful one" - a saying you hear more often lately. Why? Situated between Hermannstrasse and Tempelhofer Feld, there is a mix of an almost village-like atmosphere blended with a variety of bars and restaurants like no other Neukölln neighborhood.
There is a unique green area on the Tempelhof field, the Schiller market at the foot of the Genezareth church exudes an almost village flair, the high bar intensity is unique, and what other Neuköllner neighborhood has a promenade?
In addition, the culinary diversity is a real insider tip: the unspectacular good Barra, the Korean-hip Pig & Tiger, the café-restaurant Mama Kalo or the coolest church café in Berlin - the Café Selig.
The subway station Boddinstrasse can be reached in a 5 minutes' walk and from here you are at Alexanderplatz in 13 minutes. The S-Bahn station Hermannstrasse is within walking distance of about 15 minutes and from here you can reach Berlin and the airport Schönefeld in a jiffy.
