INTERIOR
These 55 bright square meters are spread over two spacious rooms, a chic kitchen and a modern bathroom. This classic room structure is is an ideal living space for singles and couples, whereby the very large living and dining area also offers space for a desk for home office.
The characteristic of the apartment is expressed by the typical features of an old building from 1920. The vaulted ceilings and windows as well as the preservation of the entry ways give this apartment a special charm. This of course includes the old floorboards, which have been prepared and varnished while retaining the natural, warm wood tone. The walls are smoothly plastered and have received soft and beautiful gray-green shades. From very bright in the living room to a medium gray-green in the bedroom to a distinctive tone in the kitchen, each space exudes personality.
The eye-catcher in the living room is of course the historically authentic tiled stove, which spreads this unique, cozy warmth in winter and spreads the feeling of the Danish word "hygge".
The bathroom is remarkably modern. The tiles in shape, color and rhythm are reminiscent of the earlier design of grocery stores, revived in Holland at the time and highly en vogue again today. Matching high quality objects from Grohe and Villeroy & Boch. The kitchen with the checkered black-and-white pattern of the tiles offers enough space for an enjoyable cooking and eating experience.
The overall effect can be described as extremely tasteful in this typical Scandinavian reduction. This highlights the special properties and qualities of an old apartment and directs the focus to the special tiled stove and the charm of the old wooden floor. This creates the perfect, neutral background for the furniture and other individual signatures of the new residents.
EXTERIOR
This residential unit is located in one of the hippest districts of Berlin - Neukölln. The outside of the building also has the typical features of the buildings from the Wilhelminian era. This includes, among other things, the perforated facade with its numerous vertical-format windows arranged one above the other and next to one another with bars. Plastered frames and ornamentation between the windows on the ground floor and first floor paired with a shell-lime plinth all testify to the claim of earlier eras that develop valuable architecture and to show it to the outside world. At that time expressive colors were dispensed with an order to bring out the materials and design language. The appearance remained authentic here, too.
The renovated staircase welcomes residents and visitors in a cultivated, clean and well-maintained manner. The historical substance shines in the truest sense of the word in an entirely new splendor. Historic architecture, tasteful renovation create this renovated, creates this popular feeling of well-being. It is a simple truth that: preservation of the old, combined with the innovation of the new, allows the structure to exude such a sentiment
All of this has been successful inside and outside of this building, especially within the residential unit. Living with flair in a spirited environment!
