INTERIOR
This 4-room apartment is located on the 1st floor of the front building of an old building from the turn of the century. The front faces the small square on Körtestrasse, the back borders a small courtyard. By that, beautiful, continuous light and cross ventilation are guaranteed.
The renovation of the building was carried out in 2011-2013, whereby the entire building technology now meets the latest standards. This also includes an elevator that underlines the modern comfort of the apartment.
All rooms are directly accessible from a polygon-shaped corridor. An extension with built-in shelves creates the character of a library with a work corner. The kitchen has an eye-catching industrial wooden look and also extends to the hallway, giving plenty of space for a dining table. It also offers a Smeg gas range cooker, a dark solid worktop in stone and a tiled wall with a unique black and white pattern.
The four rooms have the typical proportions of old buildings; high ceilings, beautifully dimensioned floor areas, large high windows and doors; making the possible uses of the rooms very variable. The orientation towards the open space ensures brightness, where one can ideally observe urban life from the balcony.
The entire apartment is characterized by a unique interior design. Modern built-in fittings such as wardrobes or bookshelves document the claim to combine modern and old. This respectful handling is evident in the preservation of everything historical: ceiling stucco of a special kind, plank floors and rod parquet in fishbone form, double and single-leaf solid wood doors with cassette-like ornamentation with original door frames, old door handles etc.
The most striking are though the chosen colors. White runs through all rooms with ceilings, doors, skirting boards, niches as well as entire rooms. This contrasts with colored anthracite tones, warm brown or a sulking room pink based on Farrow and Ball. This light-dark contrast is brave and at the same time impressive. Contemporary design in its most beautiful form of expression - unique.
Thus, those who appreciate the special, the expressive, have found their place.
The bathroom and the guest toilet each have their own window. A few small technical refinements should also be mentioned: cabinets with a natural wooden look, sanitary objects from Keramag in the bathroom and guest toilet, fittings from Dornbracht, Geberit and Grohe, underfloor heating as well as a washing machine-dryer tower (Bosch devices) can be found in the bathttps://plan-cafe-plan-c.business.site/hroom and guest toilet. Another highlight is the Smart Key System, which guarantees easy access and increased security.
The highlight is the functioning tiled stove. Its appearance fascinates with its capital-like, gold-colored top. It lets you experience bourgeois living at the turn of the century in a modern atmosphere. A feast for the eyes and enjoyment of radiant heat are guaranteed here.
OTHER
The abstract expressive art comes from Rabe Habdank (rabe-art.com) and the color-washed furniture from Johanenlies (www.johanenlies.com). If you are interested, pieces can of course also be purchased.
EXTERIOR
The first impression, almost modest, is already revised at the front door. Here one can see the demand on design. One has an eye-opening experience when entering the entrance area. Panels, historic doors, marble steps with sisal runners and cement tiles laid as an ornament adorn this area. The stucco is particularly striking as a ceiling frieze and rosette. Its historically preserved forms clearly demonstrate the difference to industrially manufactured imitations. The stucco was not worked up to the point of being unrecognizable, but instead it was skillfully played with the charm of the morbid. Creating an absolutely unique interior design! The harmoniously coordinated colors do the rest to achieve this cozy ambience.
LOCATION
The corner building at Körtestrasse/Urbanstrasse is right in the heart of Kreuzberg and, thanks to its proximity to the Landwehr Canal, also offers local recreation: whether with a rubber boat over the water, with a Cortado at the Plan Café or with a sundowner on the Admiral Bridge. Pamper yourself with local Italian cuisine at Terra, enjoy top cuisine at Herz und Niere or create your own menu with fish and deli products from Fisch und Feinkost Christ.
The M41's bus stop right outside the front door brings one towards Neukölln or Mitte, the Südstern tube station (450 m away) bridges longer distances and, of course, a number of car-sharing options are just outside the door and make one reach Tegel Airport in just 24 minutes and the main train station in 14 minutes.
