INTERIOR
You enter this 79 sqm "Altbau" from the Wilhelminian period through a spacious hall with a built-in wardrobe (about 1 m deep), from which all rooms can be directly accessed - two separate rooms, a kitchen and the bathroom with daylight. Due to the north-south orientation, the location on the 2nd floor of the front building and the high rooms of 3.30 m, the apartment is very bright and also gets direct sunlight.
During the renovation, the main historic building elements were preserved. These include, among others, the wooden floorboards, the detailed stucco elements, the generous wooden doors with ornate door frames and also the historic brass handles.
The emphasis on the color white on ceilings, walls, doors, tiles, etc. reinforces the impression of brightness and creates a harmonious overall impression. This holistic approach is also underlined by the fact that the plank floor was sanded off in all rooms and left natural. Colors are used only occasionally for accentuation. In this way, a very tasteful interior was created, which is characterized by the preservation of the substance.
The kitchen is equipped with an anthracite gray kitchen with worktop in oak and has all the equipment and enough space for a dining table for four people. Alternatively, you could move the kitchen to the neighboring bedroom, and thus create a combination of cooking, eating and living. This gives you another bedroom and creates a perfect 3-bedroom apartment that combines the charm of the early days with modern comfort.
EXTERIOR
This classic old building fits seamlessly into the historic building line of Gleimstrasse. Even from the outside, it shines in all its historical splendor with the tall windows, the ornaments, the magnificent gable or the lush front door. The interior was lovingly handled with the historic building structure and tastefully renovated. Black, white and gray emphasize the variety of forms. Railings, doors and stucco elements are to be mentioned here. The district had already been developed in its conception for the upper bourgeoisie and it has remained until today. One can only feel well in this environment of sophistication.
LOCATION
The Gleimstrasse has in recent years become an "in-street" of Prenzl 'Berg. There are exciting restaurants like the Best Friends, vegan cafes (Samer Café) and neighborhood shops like the Writers Corner. The small Falkplatz and the adjacent Mauerpark offer enough green for the walk or the Sunday stroll over the world-famous flea market. Also, the Max-Schmeling-Halle is within walking distance and there you can watch live concerts of Seeed or handball games of the Berlin Füchse.
The public transport is ideal: the S-Bahn and subway station "Schönhauser Allee" is a 4 minutes walk away and from there you can easily reach Berlin (Tegel airport 21 minutes, Alexanderplatz 8 minutes and Friedrichstrasse in 16 minutes).
