INTERIOR
This townhouse dates back to 1914 and was planned by the architect Paul Imberg. Imberg also designed many other exciting projects in Dahlem (including the country house in Musäusstrasse 4), a summer house on the island of Sylt, and in 1925/1926 a holiday home in Scharfling (Upper Austria).
The Imberg Townhouse offers a total of 385 sqm living space on three floors, divided into 11 rooms, an open kitchen area with adjoining winter garden and terrace, 4 bathrooms, hobby room, spa area with sauna, wine cellar and more. The amount of space alone clearly shows that this is an absolute luxury property. Many elements of the past have been preserved in the historical garb. Sash bar windows, coffered ceiling in the hallway, conservatory glazing in its division, interior doors, roof shape over the entrance, etc. have been preserved and have been perfectly renovated so that they shine in their old, new splendour. This unique ambience has thus been preserved thanks to the excellent room proportions.
The special feature, however, is the extremely successful integration of state-of-the-art interior design. The ceiling-high glass element that separates the dining area from the hallway should be emphasized here. This has made it possible to bring light into the interior, but also to create interesting insights and views.
Open fireplaces are just as much a matter of course here as compliance with the latest ecological standards through a pellet heating system or the use of waste heat from the fireplace for central heating.
There are so many interesting corners in this house and only a fraction of then can be described here. The rest must be experienced live.
Only the colours, of course by Farrow & Ball, will be discussed here. An absolutely harmonious overall colour scheme has been created. Light turquoise, pale coloured grey, tinted white, and pale pink provide this bright, pleasant atmosphere. Wallpapers on individual walls set further accents. Here the use of colour, as the design element par excellence in interior design, has been perfectly successful.
The pictures say more than words about the entire interior design. To be more luxurious is hardly possible. A highlight, no, the highlight of the year because everything is just right.

EXTERIOR
The residential building is located in the noble district of Dahlem. It belongs to the Schorlemerallee/Rohlfsstraße quarter, which was built from 1911 onwards. Characteristic of semi-detached houses, groups of three and five houses in villa and country house style with generous green spaces and parks. The credo for the architecture was "unity in diversity". This resulted in buildings that have many common features in terms of design; e.g. building size, height, steep roofs, roof overhang, mullioned windows etc., and yet each building was given an individual touch. Also common is a small front garden facing the avenue and a generously dimensioned garden plot facing the interior of the block, which is especially true for corner houses.
The preservation of the appearance is guaranteed by the inclusion of the listed buildings. The building perfectly embodies the qualities of this architecture and urban planning. Even the enclosure still shows the high design standards of this historical architecture. Perfection here too. There is hardly a more beautiful, quiet, pleasant way to live in the middle of Berlin. Historical, cultivated and aesthetic are further adjectives that can be used to describe living in this environment, in this ambience.
