Taking its cues from the building’s industrial history while providing a contemporary airy living quarters is a new open-plan home in Santo Amaro de Oeiras.
The home features cathedral ceilings, strong lines, and contrasts stark white construction with occasional sections showing the original stone masonry. The layout interweaves two interior courtyards, as well as an upstairs terrace, allowing for the outside space as a functional and considered extension to the interior.
Designed by architects Ana Fiuza and André Caetano, the home was selected as part of ArchDaily’s Building of the Year in 2022.
The location is in the historic center of Oeiras, between Lisbon and Cascais. Fifteen minutes walking from Santo Amaro de Oeiras beach; five minutes to the Santo Amaro de Oeiras train stop.
